1 cup oats
1 small onion finely chopped
1 green chili chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
4 curry leaves
1 + 1 teaspoon coriander leaves finely chopped
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
Step 1
Mount a pan or pan on the flame and add oats to it and fry it while stirring it on medium flame. When the oats comes in golden brown color, take it off the flame immediately and cover it in a bowl.
Step 2
Now put oil in the same pan and heat it, and when the oil becomes hot, add mustard seeds in it and set it on high flame. As soon as the grains turn to medium heat, add chopped onions, curry leaves and green chillies to it and fry it while stirring it till the onion becomes golden in color.
Step 3
Now add the pre-roasted oats in the pan and stir it well. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add water according to the gravy of your choice and add lemon juice and leave it well.
Step 4
Cover it with a lid and cook on a low flame for 5 minutes or until the oats are completely soft. Now mix 1 teaspoon coriander leaves into it and finally garnish it with the remaining 1 teaspoon coriander leaves and serve it hotly.
